The Tree Is Up !

Peek-A-Boo!

Get a little closer!

Christmas with the kids gets funner and funner every year. Putting up the tree this year was way easy because the kids did most of it. They had a blast. I had to laugh because they would put like four ornaments in the same spot and the limb would just be drooping there. We gave them some good pointers and the tree is beautiful.
Good job guys!

Another Hole in His Head

About a year ago daycare called me at work and said that Austin had fallen and split his forhead open. So I rushed him to emergency in Gridley for 3 stitches. Yahoooooo! Austin was fine. Didn't cry or anything. Barely even a scar. Well, today we were at the park and I was ready to go. So I told Avery to start heading for the car. She asked to stay just a few more minutes. So I figured, what could it hurt since it was such a nice day. Not even 5 minutes later I hear Austin scream. I say the usual, come here, you're o.k. As he came into sight I see a gyser of blood squirting out of his head and pooling up on his shoulder. So we rush for the car. I'm carrying Austin and Nolan and Avery are following me. I get Austin in the car and turn around and Nolan is almost all the way across the parking lot and Avery is yelling, "Austin's bleeding." Long story short, the doctor said to save him the dramatic experience, skip the stapling of his skull, and keep neosporin on it. Poor guy. His his o.k. now. Milking it like anyone else would.

I HATE THE SUGAR BOWL!

Of all the things I hate most in this house, it's this dang sugar bowl. Whenever I am having a bad day, or just want to get home, get dinner done, get baths done and relax, the sugar bowl strikes again. Tonight the step stool was out and Nolan was carrying it around the house. Can you guess what happened? When I was the most distracted back in the bedroom, Nolan decided to see what he could get to on the counter. Since there was no knives he could grab this time, he decides that the sugar bowl is the next best thing. You know when you finally get around to mopping the floor and it feels so good to walk barefoot and not worry about stepping on crumbs or something sticky, and to no evail, something always gets spilled the next day. Ya. I HATE THE SUGAR BOWL.

Happy Birthday Avery and Austin!

What a great Birthday! We had a big family birthday party at Aunt Susan's this year, celebrating Grandma's birthday as well as the twins and others! It was fun. We did get rained on a little bit, but that just added to the excitement. There were lots of people there. Cousins, aunts, uncles, and new babies. The kids played and played. The hardest part was keeping the fingers out of the cake. I can't believe Austin and Avery are 4! Time does fly.

Trick-or-Treat!!!

This was the first Halloween we didn't spend at home trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. Garrett had a football game and I wasn't sure what to do. Thank goodness for family. We decided to head to the Ville and go see the aunts. First we went to Aunt Susan's and Angie's. Then we went to Aunt Brenda's and mooched dinner and visited her neighbors. Then we went to Aunt Sandra's and visited her and her neighbors. The kids had a blast. They would have gone all night. We came home with way too much candy and tired legs. Thank you Uncle Chris for tagging along and helping. I couldn't have done it without ya.
Just a thought: It is so weird how things are changing. Sad, I think. When we were little every door in our neighborhood was open on Halloween, and every kid was dressed up and running up and down the street. What happened to those days when people were out just to have fun and enjoy each other? What happened to people on the front porch enjoying the evening and visiting with passer by's? Now people are too lame and scared to do such things. Is it really that bad that people can't enjoy life? Why does it have to be this way?

Backyard Picnic

So, I have been so tired lately because I try to stay up after the kids go to bed and have a life. Who am I kidding. Anyways, last night I didn't really feel like cooking dinner and I knew that the kids had had a big lunch at daycare. So I thought it would fun to make some sandwiches and have a picnic on the back porch. Little preparation and I could sweep up the mess later. Not to my surprise, the plan blew up in my face. Nolan had the biggest poopy diaper known to man, and our picnic ended up in the bathroom. Nolan in the bath and Austin and Avery on the bathroom floor eating sandwiches and chips. Yah, that's sanitary. Luckily the kids bathroom is probably the cleanest room in our house right now. As tired as I am and as wild as everything is though, I love the craziness. Making memories!!!

Pumpkin Patch

Last weekend we dicided, on a whim, to go to the pumpkin patch. The kids had a blast. We went with Nana and baby Wyatt. They had blow up houses there and a huge blow up slide, which all the kids loved. We went on a hay ride, looked at animals, tried to rope a hay cow and rode the boncey horses. On the way out we picked out pumpkins and, of course, hit the blow up slide one more time. Here's to my dare devil children, especially Nolan.

Family Fun

This week has been very eventful. Happy, sad, exciting, funny, it is just such an adventure having a big family. On the way home this week, Avery said that she had to go poop really bad, so I told her to squeeze her cheeks. She proceeded to put her hands on both sides of her face and squeezed her cheeks. I laughed so hard. "No, your butt cheeks!" So a couple of days later, Austin was the one that had to go. Avery told him, "Squeeze your butt cheeks Austin."

Garrett's grandpa died on Friday. Sad for everyone. We will miss him, his spunk, his straight forwardness, and his awneryness. He was such a wonderful man. I can't imagine seeing the world change through a century. That is a blessing in itself. Everyone is o.k. Just coping and remembering all the times spent with Grandpa Trujillo. We love you Grandpa.

Friday night was girls night at Grandma Wakefields. Lots of aunts and cousins were there. We had fun just gabbing and eating. Some played cards, others played with kids, or sat and stared at Diana's cute, cute baby girl. We all stayed up late and got up early Saturday morning to clean and cook breakfast for the men, who ate and did yardwork throughout the morning. I can't say enough how blessed we are to have such a close family. We are always there for each other through good and bad times, and we always know how to have a party. We all went home Saturday afternoon tired, and stinky, but it was all worth it!!!

Wirl Wind

What a wirl wind we have been through since Mommy and Daddy went back to work. Avery and Austin got mono and were down and out for about 3 weeks. Lets just say the # of sick days I have left is already dwindling. Soon after the kids got better, I decided to volunteer to help with homecoming at my school. I thought it would be fun to bring the kids and let them run around at the school. They made good friends with the high school kids and I found some good babysitters for the near future. Talk about a lot of work though. We were there every night until about 8:30 or longer. The kids lasted until Wednesday when daddy picked them up at about 7:45, and Thursday they went straight to Grammi's. The homecoming game was Friday night and Austin and Avery were the crown barers. Soooooooooo cute they were and sooooooooooo much attention they got. The school actually rented a tux for Austin and Avery had the prettiest pink dress. Following the football game, we had to wake up Saturday morning and go to a wedding in Red Bluff for Garrett's second cousin. As tired as the kids were, they were still going strong at 9:00p.m. with the music rockin'. Avery did say that her legs hurt when she got home. She did chase around a little boy all night. What a flirt. Finally things are slowing down this week. We are spending the weekend at home getting back in the groove of things. We got to go out and get Halloween costumes this week. THe kids are so excited. They would dress up every day if I let them.

HOT AUGUST DAYS!!!

August has definately been hot for us. We spent a Saturday at the park celbrating Kiana's Birthday. It had a cool water area that had water squirting out of the ground. The kids loved it. Miss attitude fell and thought she was going to die from the owee on her knee.
Leave it to Austin to play in the dirt.
At home we have been getting the pool out and staying cool in the water. Running the legth of the yard and jumping in is the thing to do. Avery also loves to swing in the back yard. She is getting really good at swinging herself! Austin loves to play any kind of sport. Right now he is learning how to use a baseball glove. Lets just say that he has used his head more than the glove. He is getting good at the throwing technique though. He points his glove and follows through very well.
Nolan spends his time trying to keep up. He is getting close to riding a trike while the twins are getting better on the two wheelers. Training wheels of course. Poor Nolan hates to ride in the stroller. Too babyish I think. Believe it or not, he beats both his brother and sister up. Going back to day care on Monday. Lets hope that Nolan doesn't his too many kids.

July Jubilation

July was a busy month for the Weagants. Fourth of July, Tahoe, Six Flags, Disneyland, and Camping at Little Grass Valley. Lets just say, we were definately off the routine.
We celebrated 4th of July at with Daycare at the parade. Then we ventured over to the Fridrichs for ots of food, swimming and firework fun.

Mom and Dad took a break and went to Tahoe for a few days. Relaxing?, Yes!

Six Flags was a last minute trip to get out of the house and out of the smoke. The kids had a blast riding rides and seeing the whale and dolphins. Dry, we were not. THanks to the Dolphins.

Six days in Disneyland was a blast. Sorry Nolan. Next time you can go. Austin and Avery were able to ride almost every ride. Austin's favorite ride was Buzz Lightyear. What is it with boys and guns? Avery loved Splash Mountain. A girl after my own heart. One night was spent going on Splash again and again. "Hold me Daddy!" We went home wet, cold, and tired. The kids crashed every night. "Hot Dog!!" We already can't wait to go again.

Now it is August and we are trying to get back in the routine and ready for school, football, and daycare. :( THe fun is ending, vacations come quick and fun is always right around the corner.
